Tiokasin Ghosthorse
Member of the Cheyenne River Lakota Nation of South Dakota with a long history of Indigenous activism and advocacy. Tiokasin is the Founder, Host and Executive Producer of “First Voices Radio” (formerly “First Voices Indigenous Radio”) for the last 30 years in New York City and Seattle/Olympia, Washington. In 2016, he received a Nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize from the International Institute of Peace Studies and Global Philosophy. Tiokasin is a “perfectly flawed human being.”

Laurie Anderson
Writer, Director, Visual Artist, and Vocalist who has created groundbreaking works that span the worlds of art, theater, experimental music, and technology. Her recording career, launched by “O Superman” (1981) includes the soundtrack to her feature films Home of the Brave (1986) and Life on a String (2001). In 2002, Anderson was appointed the first artist-in-residence of NASA, which culminated in her 2004 touring solo performance The End of the Moon. Anderson continues to tour her evolving performance Language of the Future and is working on a new major work ARK that will premiere at the Factory in Manchester in fall of 2024.

Samuel Myers, MD, MPH
Studies the human health impacts of accelerating disruptions to Earth’s natural systems, a field recently dubbed Planetary Health. He is a Principal Research Scientist at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and is the founding Director of the Planetary Health Alliance (www.planetaryhealthalliance.org). As the Director of the Planetary Health Alliance, Sam oversees a multi-institutional effort focused on understanding and quantifying the human health impacts of disrupting Earth’s natural systems and translating that understanding into resource management decisions globally. Sam received his BA from Harvard College, MD from Yale University School of Medicine, and MPH from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health.

Gyalwa Dokhampa
Brings a young and vibrant viewpoint to traditional Buddhist teachings around the world. He also works to make Buddhist ideals relevant to a modern lifestyle and emphasizes that Buddhist principles can and should be integrated into everyday life, through service to others. Like His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa, His Eminence too encourages preservation of the natural environment by leading pad yatras (walking pilgrimages) to create awareness to the interdependent relationship between the individual and the environment, mindfulness and emotional well-being. His Eminence is the author of the book Restful mind – A new way of Thinking, A new way of Life and has launched the book internationally.

Nathan Romano
President of Atalaya where he leads strategy, responsible growth and capital markets. Prior to Atalaya, he was the President and Chief Operating Officer at York Capital Management and held senior roles at Goldman, Sachs & Co, Credit Suisse, and Bear Stearns. He also worked at Bain & Company in the firm’s private equity practice. Nathan is very active in the Mental Health community having joined the board of the National Alliance on Mental Illness in 2006 and is now, among other mental health-related initiatives, its President Emeritus. Nathan serves on the boards of the Museum of the City of New York, the Investment Management division of UJA, and the Compassionate Leadership in Finance program at the Garrison Institute.

David Francis Germano
World-renowned expert of Tibetan forms of meditation and their modern applications. He is Professor in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Virginia where he also serves as the Director of the Tibet Center, Director of the Contemplative Sciences Center, and Director of SHANTI (Sciences, Humanities, and the Arts Network of Technological Initiatives). He also is the Founder and Director of the Tibetan and Himalayan Library, the largest international initiative using digital technology to facilitate collaboration in Tibetan Studies across disciplines. He works extensively with each of the eleven schools at UVA to explore learning, research, and engagement initiatives regarding contemplation in their own disciplinary and professional areas.

David Sloan Wilson
American Evolutionary Biologist and Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Biological Sciences and Anthropology at Binghamton University. He is a son of the Author Sloan Wilson, and Co-Founder of the Evolution Institute, and Co-Founder of the recent spinoff nonprofit Prosocial World. Wilson graduated with a B.A. with high honors in 1971 from the University of Rochester. He completed his Ph.D. in 1975 at Michigan State University. Wilson was promoted to full Professor of Biological Sciences at the State University of New York, Binghamton, in 1988. He was given a joint appointment as Professor of Anthropology in 2001 and retired in 2019.

Mette Boell
Biologist specialized in the evolution of complex social systems, mammalian play behavior and philosophy of nature. Mette Miriam has a Ph.D. in organizational ethology from the Center for Semiotics, Aarhus University, and holds additional degrees in Contemplative Leadership and the Philosophy and History of Science. She uses her training in these diverse areas to research how emotions and feelings are transmitted in social relations and how the resulting relational fields in turn shape the larger systems human beings are parts of, with a particular focus on education. In 2022, Mette Miriam co-founded The MIT Systems Awareness Lab with Peter Senge, where she currently holds the position of Research Director.

Sander Tideman
Director of Compassionate Leadership in Finance (CLIF) at the Garrison Institute and serves on the faculty of the Rotterdam School of Management and Mobius Executive Leadership. After a career in law and finance (of which 5 years based in China as Chief Representative of ABN AMRO Bank), he is an Author, Consultant and Coach in sustainability leadership, organizational change and investing. Holding degrees from the University in Utrecht, London School of Economics and School of Oriental and African Studies, his work integrates insights from Eastern philosophy, neuro-science, psychology and systems-science with practices of management, finance and economics. His most recent book Triple Value Leadership describes a new leadership theory and practice for sustainable business transformation. Founder Triple Value Leadership. Sander worked closely with H.H. the Dalai Lama on translating insights from Buddhism into business and economics, as laid down in Sander’s book “Business as an Instrument for Societal Change - In Conversation with the Dalai Lama.”

CBR contributes to a more compassionate world through providing human service workers with the contemplative and mind-body tools they need to build resilience to the secondary traumatic stress they experience while helping others. Christa is passionate about designing, facilitating, and scaling learning experiences that inspire and equip participants to transform themselves and their communities. For over twenty-five years, Christa has provided experiential training in peace education and equity informed social-emotional learning to thousands of educators, changemakers, and organizational leaders in social service sectors.

Director of Pathways to Planetary Health with the Garrison Institute, a non-profit that harnesses the power of contemplative wisdom and practice from many traditions to build a more compassionate and resilient world. In this role, he develops strategic partnerships to advance planetary health and build practical, scalable solutions to global environmental challenges. Previously, Stephen served as Director of Policy and Partnerships with the Gund Institute for Environment. He has over 20 years of experience building understanding across sectors. His work has appeared in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Environmental Science & Policy, Nature Communications, Bloomberg, The Hill, and the New York Times.

Amanda Janoo
Economics and Policy Lead for the Wellbeing Economy Alliance (WEALL), Amanda is an economic policy and systems change expert with over a decade of experience working with governments and international development institutions around the world. Her work aims to build just and sustainable economies through wellbeing-oriented and participatory policy design processes. Prior to joining WEAll, Amanda worked for the United Nations and the African Development Bank as an industrial policy and structural transformation expert. As a Fulbright researcher, she explored the relationship between international trade and informal employment. She holds an MPhil from Cambridge University and heralds from the green mountain state of Vermont, in the USA.
